Biography
Fritz Graf - Trombonist
An active and versatile musician, Fritz has performed with a variety of ensembles on two continents. As a trombonist he has performed with the Indiana Wind Symphony, Athenaeum Pops Orchestra, the Indianapolis Chamber Winds, Philharmonia a Vént, and Trezuno-7 salsa band. Fritz spent two years touring the country with R & B sensation Probable Cause and also lived two years in Maracaibo, Venezuela as bass trombonist of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Maracaibo. Fritz can be heard on the Elf and New Dawn record labels.
As a teacher, Fritz’s 20 years experience is in much demand. He has worked the Greater Baltimore Youth Symphony, Banda de Bolivar, Indianapolis Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Butler Symphony Orchestra. Here in Indiana, Fritz has worked with the brass students of Ben Davis, Plainfield, and Avon high schools, both on the marching band field, in the concert hall and in the private lesson studio. He has also served as the band director at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana.
Fritz Graf came to Indianapolis from Baltimore, MD. Fritz holds a masters degree from Butler University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University, both in performance. In addition to his degrees he has studied at Indiana University and The Peabody Conservatory of Music. He is currently finishing his master’s degree in education at Butler University. Fritz’s principal teachers are C. Russell McKinney, Randal Campora, Jared Rodin, Dr. Randall Mitchell, Dr. Robert Grechesky, and Edwin D. Anderson.
